The Gray Center for Arts and Inquiry invites you to our second FarBar program, a live conversation about storytelling with three acclaimed practitioners. Widely known as a Grammy-nominated flutist, composer, and vocalist, Nathalie Joachim brings voices and personal stories to vibrant life in her recent immersive musical performance “Discourse,” in Chapel Hill, NC. Emily Lansana is a 20-year veteran of professional storytelling, one half of the nationally touring duo In The Spirit, and a longtime member of ASE, the Chicago Association of Black Storytellers. Jacqueline Stewart is the founder and director of the South Side Home Movie Project, as well as a UChicago professor of Cinema & Media Studies and director of Arts + Public Life. Each guest will share her storytelling practice, followed by a discussion exploring their intersections and differences and considering implications for collaboration. Viewers will be invited to pose questions and join the conversation.
